The Notary Solution

Legalised Certificates of Good Standing

It is possible to get an original certificate of good standing legalised by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office without having it notarised first. You can simply send the original Companies House document to the FCO with an application for an apostille. However, some countries still want to see the notary stamp so it is worth double checking the expectation with your overseas legal advisor before you send it for legalisation. We find that slight differences in terminology can lead to misunderstandings about requirements so we recommend that you ask whether the Cerificate of Good Standing needs to be notarised prior to legalisation or whether legalisation alone is sufficient.

If you require a notarised Certificate of Good Standing, we need to order the certificate directly from Companies House in order to verify the authenticity and notarise it. You do not need to attend an appointment as we can complete the transaction using our online service.
